I just had to share my super duper skirt that I made in Tangle’s Barcelona Skirt sewing class. I had the pattern and the fabric cut out before the first class started…So I had a bit of a jump start on the class. I bought the pattern and fabric last summer and had been too intimidated to complete it on my own. However, after taking the class I am a bit embarrassed that I waited so long. The pattern was so easy. The only tricky part was the invisible zipper. It wasn’t difficult really, it’s just that my machine does not have an invisible zipper foot, so I had to borrow Sharon’s (the class instructor). Aside from that, the skirt literally took about three evenings (2 hours each) to complete. A more experienced/confident seamstress could easily complete the pattern in one evening. I am optimistic that my second skirt (yes, I’ve already started Barcelona Skirt #2) will go much quicker.
This pattern runs a little small, in my opinion. I am normally a medium/large but was actually a large/x-large in this pattern. So, if you’re bigger than a size 10/12, you may have to make a few modifications to the pattern. Happy Sewing!
Carol just finished teaching our heartbeat sweater class. I always love the end of class when we get to admire all of the wonderful finished projects. It’s always amazing how four or five people can knit the same pattern and each one looks SO different!
Here is a picture of Gail modeling her sweater. She chose a beautiful color of Malabrigo Worsted for her project. I can’t wait ’til fall when we restock Malabrigo! It’s just so beautiful!
