There is something about knitting things for men. A sweater is a huge commitment (and often an equally huge expense). Many men refuse to wear scarves. But a hat…Yes, a hat is something that will not only be appreciated, but more often than not, worn frequently. I love knitting hats for men. They aren’t as particular about whether the hat is itchy, or makes their hair flat after they take it off. They appreciate that it keeps their noggins warm when they’re kindly scraping ice from their wives’ windshields (not that I would expect mine to do that, of course). This hat was so fun and easy to knit and turned out great. The Noro Silk Garden is gorgeous and adds just enough color to make the hat a little funky. The Cascade 220 is such a workhorse yarn….Warm, wonderful to knit with, tons of yardage. You can easily make two hats with a skein of each.
pssst….Watch for this hat to be offered as a class on the next class schedule (Jan-March).
